Bay Area Christian School (BACS) seeks to fulfill the following needs for the 2017-18 school year. Start dates are dependent on specific duties posed by each individual position and may vary accordingly. Qualified candidates for faculty positions would be those who confess Christ and exhibit a Christian lifestyle, have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, and have at least 24 hours in the specific content discipline advertised. Interested applicants should send resumes and completed applications along with college transcripts to Human Resources. Only submissions containing all three of the mentioned elements will be processed.

Qualified candidates for substitute teaching positions would be those who confess Christ and exhibit a Christian lifestyle, and have a minimum of 24 hours of college coursework completed.  Transcripts are required to verify the completion of coursework – unofficial transcript copies are acceptable.  Interested substitute teacher applicants should send completed applications along with college transcripts to Human Resources. Only submissions containing both of the mentioned elements will be processed.

Elementary Principal

God has continued to bless our school with tremendous growth.  In response, BACS seeks to be a good steward of this blessing by promoting a quantitative and qualitative expansion.  Our elementary division is expected to enroll over 500 students for the 2017-18 school year.  Therefore, we are seeking a distinctively Christian leader who loves Jesus, children, and Christian education to oversee this growing division of our school and fill the role of Elementary Principal.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Christian school teacher and administrator, will be an effective and energetic communicator, will seek to partner with families in the mode of Deuteronomy 6 education, and will collaborate well.  We also desire an individual who can be an innovator while respecting and building on our school’s rich heritage of and strong reputation for providing quality Christian education and impacting lives for now and eternity.

The Elementary Principal will lead an astute and experienced faculty and staff while partnering with two existing Assistant Principals and a school administrative team comprised of Junior High and High School Principals, our Athletic Director, and the Head of School.  He or she should be able to ascribe wholeheartedly to our statement of faith and should be prepared to attend Bay Area Church as an active member.

Elem Principal Job Description

 

Full-Time Physics Teacher
Effective Date: August 4th, 2017

Courses: Standard and AP Physics
 

Overview:  With an emphasis on firm and pragmatic mathematical Science concepts, the Science Department at BACS is in need of a qualified candidate to teach high school students in standard as well as AP Physics. Candidates should have a firm grasp of Physics concepts with the propensity for teaching with great effort and understanding. Applicants must commit to accepting and using technology, such as a smartboard and Chromebooks, as a conduit for the course material and learning. The ideal candidate will have relative classroom experience and will challenge a high caliber student with strong study habits.

The expectation is that there will be six classes taught during the day for full-time and up to four classes a day for part-time.  Also, there will be an opportunity for teacher planning times during the schedule.  The opening is upcoming for the 2017-18 school year with applicants being interviewed immediately.  Potential coaching positions in multiple sports and club sponsorships are available to accompany this role.

Full-Time History Teacher

Overview: The History Department is in need of filling a full-time position for the freshmen and sophomore classes of World Geography and World History.  The ideal candidate will possess a biblical worldview with an aptitude for dynamically inspiring and challenging students to process a rigorous curriculum while demonstrating practical and biblical application.  The ability to effectively promote biblical integration throughout the course is paramount.  Applicants must commit to accepting and using technology, such as a smartboard and Chromebooks, as a conduit for the course material and learning. The expectation is for the teacher to teach six classes with given planning periods within the day.  There is also the opportunity for multiple coaching roles in various sports and club sponsorships to accompany this full-time position.

Overview: The Bible Department is in need of filling a full-time position for the sophomore and senior classes of Bible.  The ideal candidate will possess a biblical worldview with an aptitude for dynamically inspiring and challenging students to process a meaningful Bible curriculum while demonstrating practical application.  The ability to effectively promote a biblical worldview throughout the course is paramount. Applicants must commit to accepting and using technology, such as a smartboard and Chromebooks, as a conduit for the course material and learning. The expectation is for the teacher to teach six classes with given planning periods within the day.  There is also the opportunity for multiple coaching roles in various sports and club sponsorships to accompany this full-time position.

Full-Time Spanish Teacher

Overview: The Spanish Department is in need of filling a full-time position for the high school Spanish, which serves a mixture of students 9th-12th grade.  The ideal candidate will possess a biblical worldview and a solid knowledge of the Spanish language, history, and culture.  He or she should be adept at inspiring and challenging students to process a rigorous curriculum while demonstrating practical and biblical application.  Applicants must commit to accepting and using technology, such as a smartboard and Chromebooks, as a way to integrate the curriculum. The expectation is for the teacher to teach six classes with given planning periods within the day.  There is also the opportunity for multiple coaching roles in various sports and club sponsorships to accompany this full-time position.

Part-Time Art Teacher

Overview: The Art Department is in need of filling a part-time position for high school and junior high students.  The ideal candidate will possess a biblical worldview with significant artistic knowledge and teaching prowess.  The ability to transfer art skills to the students should be accompanied by the ability to foster a biblical worldview through teaching practices.  Applicants should be comfortable with technology, such as a smartboard and Chromebooks, but should also be able to demonstrate elevated skills in drawing, painting, pottery, etc. The expectation is for the teacher to teach four classes within the day.  There is also the opportunity for multiple coaching roles in various sports and club sponsorships to accompany this part-time position.
