February 27 Head of School Weekly Update

by Les Rainey on February 27, 2025

Dear BACS Family,

In Psalm 61:1-2, David writes, “Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Life is full of moments when we feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or uncertain. David understood distress, yet rather than relying on his own strength, he cried out to God. He recognized his need for something greater—a foundation, a “rock that is higher than I.”

Each day, I am reminded of how blessed I am to be part of such a great school. However, after this past week’s secondary chapel, I gained a fresh sense of gratitude and awe of God’s goodness. Mrs. Duncan, our elementary principal, shared personal stories of God’s provision in her life, and I encourage you to listen. Fortunately, we captured the message on video—you can watch it by clicking here. I hope it blesses you as much as it did our students.

Please keep the following groups in your prayers as they perform and compete in the coming days:

  • 1st and 2nd Grade Music Program – Tonight at 7:00 pm in the Worship Center

  • HS BETA Club – Traveling to Dallas on Friday to represent BACS at the State Competition

  • Secondary Choir – Competing in the TPSMEA Solo & Ensemble Festival on Friday

  • Girls Basketball – Playing in the State Final Four in Waco today at 2:00 pm

  • Spring Sports – Teams are actively competing across the area

Best of luck to all our students and leaders as they represent our Bronco community. We are proud of you!

It’s a great day to be a Bronco!
