Before & After School

Extended Care

Before and after school supervision, known as Extended Care, is provided to assist parents who need additional supervision for children outside of the supervised 7:25 a.m. - 3:35 p.m. school day. For your convenience, Extended Care charges will be billed monthly through your FACTS account.

The following guidelines are to help provide safety and supervision for your child:

  1. Ensure all contact information is updated for the current school year.
  2. All pick up occurs via texting. No one is allowed in the building for pick up. 
  3. All K-6 students arriving before 7:45 a.m. will need to be under supervised care.
  4. All K-6 students who are regularly not picked up in the car line by 3:30 p.m. need to go to Extended Care. Billing begins at 3:15 p.m. 
  5. No K-6 students should be at the gym or other campus locations without supervision.

TIMES: Morning Extended Care – 7:00 a.m. – 7:25 a.m. Afternoon Extended Care – 3:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

RATES: $7.25 per hour/per child (billed in 15 minute increments) Late Fees after 6:00 p.m. are $1.00 per minute

Morning Extended Care

Available for all K-6 students and begins in the Kids’ Commons at 7:00 a.m. At 7:25 a.m., third through sixth grade students will be sent to the lunchroom where two adults will provide supervision as a portion of their morning duty. There is no charge from 7:25 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.

Afternoon Extended Care

Available for all K-6 students and begins in the Kids' Commons at 3:15 p.m. Please note, if your student is not picked up by 3:30 p.m. from the car line, they will be checked into Extended Care. 

Junior High

JH students have Afternoon Extended Study in the Atrium starting at 3:30 p.m. If they are not in extended care, students should be off campus or in an activity by 3:30 p.m. (per the student handbook). The hourly rate is $7.25.

Music Offerings

Open to students in grades 1 & 2. The main focus of this program will be to help students express their musical creativity by building a variety of skills, talents, and abilities. As a part of this program, your child will explore the basics of music by using a variety of classroom instruments, learn new music concepts through music, movement, and imaginative play, participate in a variety of ensemble experiences, and develop an awareness of steady beat, meter, and rhythm, essential musicianship skills with ties to physical development and coordination. They will also develop self-confidence, musicianship, collaboration, and creativity through teamwork, peer interaction, and communication.

Open to students in grades 3 & 4. The main focus of this program will be to expand on the basics of music and begin introducing more advanced musical concepts. In this program, students will creatively explore the fundamentals of music and worship in an energetic, fun filled environment. Students enrolled in this program will participate in leading Chapel for Elementary Worship services. They will also be exposed to the beginning aspects of Worship Leadership and will learn to play piano chords and read from a piano lead sheet.

Open to students entering grades 5 & 6. This program will focus on intermediate aspects of worship leadership. Elev8 will begin the process of equipping the next generation of Christ followers with the tools they will need to serve Christ's kingdom while using their gifts effectively. The term elevate means "to lift up or make higher." The main focus of this program will be to help students elevate their awareness of Christ's presence in their lives and translate that knowledge into their worship leadership. Students enrolled in this program will participate in leading Chapel for Elementary Worship services. They will learn to play piano chords and read from a piano lead sheet and will also be equipped with practical keyboard and vocal tools that they will be able to use as they begin to learn how to lead worship effectively.

Art Club

Bay Area Christian School will offer classes for the Art Club. In Psalm 50:2, "From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth." God dwells in beauty and His holiness is beautiful. Art is valued and inspired by God as a means of reflecting and glorifying God's wonders. Students will use certain mediums to explore all the beauty we represent in the Bible and how the stories come to be. The main focus of this program will be to help students refine their artistic skills to glorify the Lord through Art. There will be an interest email with additional information sent at the beginning of school.

Chess Club

The Knight School Chess Team gives students a fun, constructive, and educationally valuable way to spend after-school time. All instructors at The Knight School have passed background checks and are kid-magnet, charismatic, high-energy instructors who demonstrate the highest professionalism and classroom management ability. Bay Area Christian School will offer chess club weekly on Thursdays and there will be an interest email with additional information sent at the beginning of school.

STEM Club Offerings

Robotics

Bay Area Christian School offers STEM Club Robotics as a before-school activity for grades 4-6 led by parent volunteers vetted with BACS. Robotics will use VEX GO kit curriculum to inspire young creators for the future. Robotics will meet on certain Fridays for fall or spring semester options and an interest email with additional information will be sent at the beginning of each semester. 

Sprouts

Bay Area Christian School offers STEM Club Bronco Sprouts as a before-school activity for grades 1-3 led by parent volunteers vetted with BACS. Bronco Sprouts will study the life cycle of plants and participate in tending raised garden beds. At the end of the club, they will celebrate God's harvest and how it correlates with the parables in Scripture. Bronco Sprouts will meet on certain Fridays for fall or spring semester options and an interest email with additional information will be sent at the beginning of each semester.
